Is buyOS really a free POS system?
Yes. The register costs $0 a month with unlimited items and orders. Cash sales are free. When a customer pays by card, Stripe charges its processing fee and buyOS adds 0.3%. There is no contract and no card reader to buy.
What is a cloud POS, and is buyOS one?
A cloud POS keeps your items, sales and settings online instead of on one machine, so you can open it from any device and nothing is lost if a tablet breaks. buyOS is a cloud POS that runs in the browser: open buyos.app on an iPad, an Android tablet, a laptop or a phone and sign in.
What does the AI in buyOS actually do?
It orders your items by what usually sells at that hour, and it answers questions about your shop in plain words: how today compares with a usual day, what sells best after 2 pm, what is running low and what to order. Answers come from your own sales. Customer names and contact details are never sent to the AI.
What hardware do I need?
Only a device with a browser. Customers pay by card by scanning a QR code on your screen with their phone, so you do not need a card terminal. For grocery mode you can add a USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner.
Can buyOS replace Square or another POS?
For many independent cafés, bakeries, bars and grocery shops, yes. buyOS covers selling, card and cash payments, a customer club, stock and daily numbers without a monthly fee or hardware. If you rely on a physical card terminal or table service features, check those needs first.
Which countries is buyOS available in?
The United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. In the UK and Ireland it works as a free EPOS till system.
What happens to my shop's data?
It belongs to you. You can export or delete it any time. buyOS never sells it and never uses it for advertising. Anonymous benchmarks only ever combine at least 10 shops, and you can switch them off. Our data promise.
